Pembahasan Future Continuous Tense dan Contohnya

Future Continuous Tense disebut juga dengan Future Progressive, digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu aktivitas atau kegiatan yang akan sedang terjadi pada waktu di masa yang akan datang.
Bentuk atau Form Future Continuous Tense

S + will + be + V-ing
be going to + be + V-ing

Fungsi Future Continuous Tense

1. Future Continuous Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu peristiwa atau kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung ketika peristiwa lain terjadi di waktu yang akan datang dan akan masih berlangsung sesudahnya.
Contoh :

I will be playing basketball this time tomorrow.
I will watching television when you visit me at eight o'clock tonight.
She will be studying English at nine o'clock tonight.
At this same time tomorrow, I will be sitting in class.
I am going to be studying at the library at nine tomorrow so don't call me.

2. Untuk menyatakan dua kegiatan yang sedang terjadi pada periode waktu yang sama di masa akan datang. Dalam kalimat tersebut, kedua kegiatan atau aktivitas sedang berlangsung tetapi induk kalimat (main clause) berbentuk Future Continuous Tense.
Contoh :

The students will be thinking about spending their vacation while they are sitting under the tree.
Raisa will be reading a novel while she is waiting for her mother in the station.

Keterangan waktu yang digunakan dalam bentuk Future Continuous adalah

at this time tomorrow
at the same time
at three o' clock tomorrow
when + clause (present), ...
by this time next week
all day tomorrow

Contoh Kalimat Future Continuous

At this time next year, I will be travelling around Indonesia.
My father will be working late every evening next week.
I shall be studying English by this time tomorrow.
She will be watching TV at eight o'clock tonight.
What will you be doing tomorrow afternoon at five?
